During my SoCal Shooting Workshop a few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of working with some amazing vendors who put together an All-American shoot just in time for the Fourth of July. I am so stoked that Abby and her wonderful team at Style Me Pretty featured this shoot yesterday on July 4th!
(Stay tuned for a full post from this shoot).

Atlanta, Georgia is the home of true southern hospitality and real sweet tea.
I love Atlanta weddings because they always embody the complete essence of southern class and charm. Last summer I hosted an Atlanta wedding photographer workshop, and we ended our second day with a wonderfully styled Atlanta wedding shoot. The wonderfully talented Joy Thigpen collaborated with my assistant Kat Harris to creatively design an Atlanta wedding with some southern charm. Southern Weddings featured this shoot, and I am so excited that 8 of the Atlanta wedding photographers in attendance made the feature as well!
Due to the craziness of life I have yet to share this Atlanta wedding photographer shoot with you guys…so here it is. I hope you enjoy!

New York City’s Central Park has always been my favorite backdrop for wedding photography shoots. In April, I conducted a styled shooting workshop for New York City wedding photographers in Central Park. I was very fortunate to have renowned New York wedding stylist Jacqueline Weppner of Mercí New York along with my talented assistant Kat Harris to help style this unique shoot for myself and the 10 New York City wedding photographers who were in attendance. Despite the low temperatures that day and the threat of rain forecasted for New York City, we pulled off an amazing photo shoot with exciting results! As with most of my New York City Wedding Photographer Workshops and wedding photographer workshops around the country, my hard-working staff will submit the images for publication. This workshop was no different and the result…. six out of the ten New York City wedding photographers were featured on Style Me Pretty one of New York City’s premier wedding blogs!

For the last seven years I have had the opportunity to photograph runway shows for Vera Wang wedding dresses in New York. Vera Wang continually designs elegantly tailored silhouettes. The Vera Wang Spring 2012 wedding dresses offered a feminine color palette of greys, nudes, and blushes which created simple yet breathtaking wedding dresses.
It’s always a treat to photograph weddings at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach. The Montage Resort is one of the finest venues in Southern California and any wedding photographer would consider themselves lucky to shoot on such a beautiful property. This is why I chose The Montage Resort in Laguna as the location for my wedding photography workshop shoot. Jamie Puffer (Catering manager for The Montage Resort) was kind enough to allow my group of wedding photographers to shoot at the Montage Resort. The backdrop was beautiful as always, and the talented team of world class vendors we pulled together for the shoot set us up for some beautiful images. If you are a photographer interested in joining me for a shoot like this, be sure to check out The Seven Workshop Vegas. It’s going to be a rad time! CLICK HERE for more information and to register.

I just received a copy of the 2011 issue of Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine and was so excited to see which images Grace, Tracy and the Wedding Style editors chose from the last New York Market Week for their bridal fashion runway spreads. It is such an honor and a privilege to be the exclusive Market Week runway fashion photographer for Grace Ormonde for the last 5 years or so. It’s a demanding job photographing upwards of 30 runway shows for top bridal gown designers in NYC including Ines DiSanto, Reem Acra, Monique Lhuillier, Angel Sanchez, Vera Wang, Oscar De La Renta and many more. Above images are taken from the Spring Summer 2011 issue.
Last month, I traveled to New Orleans to lead a shooting workshop of 15 photographers for the Pictage Partner Conference. The title of my program was “Trashy-Chic Bridal Fashion”. During the workshop, I talked about my thought process behind choosing different lenses, settings, and backdrops. I also shared with the group how I find neutral yet dynamic light sources when I’m shooting with available light. To accomplish the “Trashy-Chic” vision, we brought in the usual ringers: Stylist Brandi Brownlee and Hair Genius Stormie Robinson. Our stunning models were none other than Sydney Fincher and Jessica Granger. Special thanks to my assistant Kat Harris who put the whole thing together from California and to Mon Amie Bridal Salon for providing the gowns.
Twice a year, I travel to New York City to shoot bridal runway for Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine. It is a crazy and hectic schedule (close to 30 gown designers in less than 4 days), but I look forward to it every time! I consider it an honor and a privilege to shoot for the most prestigious bridal magazine in the world. But even more than that, the team at GO has become my second family. Grace has done so much for my business over the years. From the first time she published my work in her magazine in 2003 until now with dozens of editorial spreads including cover shoots, fashion runway, tabletops, and real wedding spreads, Grace has gone out of her way to keep my name in print. She’s connected me with top wedding planners and venues around the world and is always looking for ways to bless me. Last year, out of the goodness of her heart, Grace sponsored a huge benefit shoot I hosted in Tanzania for Thirst Relief International. I am forever indebted to Grace, Yanni, Tracy, Jessica, Paula and the rest of the amazing team at Wedding Style Magazine! I love you guys!
I’m here in NYC shooting Fall Market Week for Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine. It’s 1am and I’m completely spent after a long exciting day of shooting but I wanted to put up a quick teaser. Actually… I just realized that Kat took off with all of my CF cards to back them up in her hotel room … I’ll dig up something. Ok, The shots below are from the Douglas Hannant runway show last year. More to come from this year’s runway shows soon!
