Jeremiah 29:11

Below is the full post from the newborn shoot I did with Jessica Claire & Jeff Norwood, and their studly newborn son Locke. I can’t wait to do it again… if they’ll let me!

My dear friends Jessica Claire & Jeff Norwood just celebrated the birth of their first child, Locke. It was a so much fun taking some shots for them last week. This is a sneak peak…more images to come!

Over 9 years ago I shot Kevin and Wendy’s wedding in Orange County. I was so excited to find out they were expecting their first child. A lot can change in almost a decade, so it was a gift to see Kevin and Wendy love each other even more deeply than they did on their wedding day. We spent the evening in Laguna Beach for a maternity session last week, and it was so fun getting to reconnect with them and see how their relationship has grown over the years.
Wendy and Kevin it was an honor to shoot your wedding, and such an honor to get to reconnect for another special season in life. I can’t wait to meet the little one!

I’m heading home
Yeah, but I’m not so sure
That home is a place
You can still get to by train
So I’m looking out the window
And I’m drifting off to sleep
With my face pressed up against the pane
With the rhythm of my heart
And the ringing in my ears
It’s the rhythm of the Southbound Train

New York City’s Central Park has always been my favorite backdrop for wedding photography shoots. In April, I conducted a styled shooting workshop for New York City wedding photographers in Central Park. I was very fortunate to have renowned New York wedding stylist Jacqueline Weppner of Mercí New York along with my talented assistant Kat Harris to help style this unique shoot for myself and the 10 New York City wedding photographers who were in attendance. Despite the low temperatures that day and the threat of rain forecasted for New York City, we pulled off an amazing photo shoot with exciting results! As with most of my New York City Wedding Photographer Workshops and wedding photographer workshops around the country, my hard-working staff will submit the images for publication. This workshop was no different and the result…. six out of the ten New York City wedding photographers were featured on Style Me Pretty one of New York City’s premier wedding blogs!

There’s nothing better than to photograph a long time friend and his family. It’s such an honor. I’ve known Jeremy Lucero for probably 20 years. I remember the days when he and I would stay up all night talking about girls or God and then leave early in the morning to go snowboarding in Big Bear. He’s the kind of guy you can do that with and not even get tired. We have a lot in common but mainly our faith and our careers in photography. Jeremy got me my first job as a professional photographer back 1995 working for Yary Photography (sports photography). He told them to hire me even though I had absolutely no experience. I remember calling him up before my first job and asking him what to set my newly issued Mamiya RZ67 at if it was cloudy or if I had to shoot inside a dark gymnasium. He gave me a long list of exposure & flash settings for every possible scenario and I made a chart.
Today, Jeremy is a successful wedding photographer with a cool studio in Downtown Fullerton. (Check out his website) We do Bible studies together and lunch when we can. I love his spirit and I love his family. They are beautiful people.
